The Perfect Striped Button Down

I’ve always loved button down shirts… but not necessarily on me. I like more casual wear and something about a collared shirt just never looked right on me. At least that’s what I thought.

I’ve talked about how much I love stripes, it’s pretty obvious just by scrolling through my blog or instagram so I was really happy when I ordered this shirt and loved it instantly. It’s not super thin, but definitely doesn’t feel heavy, which is nice since Texas hasn’t gotten the memo that it’s fall. It’s over-sized, which I love in general but also  doesn’t seem so business-y since that’s not my style. Basically it doesn’t make me feel like I’m trying too hard I guess!

Also since it’s a little longer and I’m a little short (5’2″) this works perfectly tucked into some high-waisted jeans.

For these photos I wore heels, but let’s be honest I’ll mostly likely wear them with flats because I still haven’t mastered the art of walking in heels.

Also, does anyone else feel extra cool when they wear aviator sunglasses? Like I put them on and instantly feel 10 times cooler. I think it’s because one of my favorite movies is Zero Dark Thirty, and I freaking love Jessica Chastain’s character and the scene when she’s wearing them with her blazer and just looking so confident and bad-ass, who doesn’t want to feel that way?!

I feel like this would be the outfit I would feel the most confident and comfortable in if I ever needed to step it up from my normal casual wear.
